Linked CAD objects are temporary and they exist in the Ureal scene as long as the source CAD and the Live Link are active.
To permanently import the CAD asset in Unreal:
- Click 'Convert CAD Models to Blueprint Asset' in the 'Detail' panel of the Mindesk Root Actor
- Choose a destination folder and press OK
- To use the new asset, go to the destination folder and drag-drop the asset in the Unreal scene
This will make your CAD asset permanently available in Unreal. Also, it will not depend anymore from the source CAD. You can safely interrupt the Live Link now.
note: you can import single CAD parts by applying the same procedure on a child actor rather than the Root Actor.
